Undoubtedly, WhatsApp is the most widely used app for bringing private and secure messaging to users across the world. Today, more and more WhatsApp users are using it as a way to connect with voice and video calls. Looking at the increasing user base, over time, WhatsApp has been introducing multiple features and advancements to calling on WhatsApp, letting its users reach out through phone, messages, and videos to their loved ones, colleagues, and communities securely.
Top 3 new features for connecting as a group on calls:

32-person calls: Like voice calls, you can now also do video calls on your mobile with up to 32 users. It is four times the number of people earlier.

Message or mute call participants: Another feature lets users enlarge the video or audio feed by long pressing on a participant and will allow you to either mute or message them separately while you continue to be on the call

Call links: Another feature allows you to easily invite people to a group call by sharing a call link

Design changes for a seamless calling experience:

Colorful waveforms: WhatsApp has added colourful waveforms letting you easily see who is speaking if their camera is turned off

In-call banner notifications: You can easily see if a new user is added or joins a group call

Picture in Picture on iOS: A minimized in-call video screen has been introduced in beta testing and is expected to be launched next year, to let you multitask while on a call.
