According to tipster Dylan (@dylandkt) on Twitter, Apple is working on replacing its smallest computer, the Mac mini (Review), using Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs, which were included on the new Apple MacBook Pro models announced last year. Apple's improved MacBook Pro models offer significant improvements over the original M1 processor, and the chips are expected to appear in the next Apple products, including a new iMac Pro model.
Apple is reported to be working on a few other products that could be unveiled alongside the Mac mini at a Spring Launch event in April. The informant also mentions a powerful new iMac Pro with Apple Silicon and an improved version of the iPad Air. The Cupertino company is rumoured to be working on a new iPhone SE model that will feature 5G connectivity and be released in April. Later this year, Apple is likely to release its iPhone 14 series devices, which will include the next generation of mobile CPUs.
Apple will also revamp the Mac mini with a new design, according to the source. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in December 2021 that Apple would update the iPad Pro with wireless charging functionality in 2022, as well as redesign the Mac mini and MacBook Air and introduce a "revamped, high-end" iMac with Apple silicon. The base 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage edition of the Mac mini was launched in India for Rs. 64,900, but there is no information on how much Apple's revised Mac mini will cost.
