OnePlus 9RT tipped to launch in India with a different name

The OnePlus 9RT, which is a direct successor to the OnePlus 9R, debuted in China in mid-October.

The OnePlus 9RT, which is a direct successor to the OnePlus 9R, debuted in China in mid-October. Since then, we've been waiting for a word on its arrival in India, which now appears to be on the horizon, albeit it may have a somewhat different name here.
Based on information from the Google Support Devices list and Google Play listings, tipster Mukul Sharma tweeted this information via Twitter. According to him, OnePlus may simply call the smartphone OnePlus RT when it launches. Of course, we'd take this information with a healthy dose of salt until we hear more from OnePlus, which is yet to confirm a launch date in India.

The OnePlus 9RT's story began with a bit of a stumbling block. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had stated that a OnePlus 9T model would not be released, however, the company did release one in the OnePlus 9R series. The device has subsequently been spotted on the BIS verification website, despite there being no official notification on its arrival in India.

Previously, tipster Yogesh Brar predicted that the OnePlus 9RT would cost between Rs 40,000 and Rs 44,000 in India. The smartphone costs CNY 3,299 (about Rs 38,700) in China for the 8GB + 128GB model and CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 44,500) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The phone launched in three colours: black, silver, and blue.

The OnePlus 9RT sports a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel with a full-HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. It boasts a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 CPU is combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in the OnePlus 9RT.

The OnePlus 9RT features a triple camera setup at the rear with a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor, which is the same as the OnePlus 9 series. Optical image stabilization (is also included (OIS). A 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera are also packed within the array. There's a 16MP f/2.4 camera at the front for selfies and video chats. The OnePlus 9RT packs a 4,500mAh battery and comes with 65W fast charging support.

The phone comes loaded with ColorOS, which is based on Android 11, but we can expect OxygenOS if it is released outside of China. An in-screen fingerprint scanner and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos are also equipped on the OnePlus 9RT.
