In India, Amazon has released the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, an improved version of the Fire TV Stick 4K. It has a new quad-core 1.8GHz MediaTek MT8696 processor with 750MHz IMG GE8300, which is 40% faster than the previous. It boasts 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, and owing to the MT7921LS chip, it is the first Amazon Fire TV stick to enable Wi-Fi 6.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is priced at Rs. 6,499 in India. It's now available for pre-order on Amazon.in and Amazon kiosks in various malls around the country, with delivery starting on October 7.

The $59.99 Fire TV Stick 4K Max is also available for pre-order in the United States (roughly Rs. 4,400).

Amazon also sells the ordinary Fire TV Stick 4K for Rs. 5,999 and the Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen) for Rs. 3,999 in India, in addition to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The Fire TV Stick Lite, which costs Rs. 2,999, is also part of the Fire TV Stick lineup.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max specifications and features

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max boasts a quad-core MediaTek MT8696 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, and an IMG GE8300 GPU clocked at 750MHz, claiming to be 40% more powerful than the Fire TV Stick 4K. The Fire TV Stick 4K, on the other hand, boasts a quad-core 1.7GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and a 650MHz IMG GE8300 GPU. Both the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K come with 8GB of inbuilt storage from Amazon.

In addition to the speedier processing units, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max has a MediaTek MT7921LS chipset that supports Wi-Fi 6. This is in contrast to the previous Fire TV Stick 4K, which includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5).

The Wi-Fi 6 support is intended to assist give a smoother streaming experience with no lag. However, to use the built-in Wi-Fi 6 functionality, you'll need a compatible router.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac networks and has backward compatibility. Bluetooth v5.0 is included, as well as support for connection with compatible devices such Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and gaming controllers.

Aside with Wi-Fi 6, another significant difference between the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K is the former's support for Dolby Vision. To see the difference, you'll need content in Dolby Vision format.

Other formats, such as HDR10 and HDR10+, are also supported. Furthermore, on compatible TV devices and for select content, the new Fire TV Stick supports Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience.

With the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Amazon has also included a 3rd-generation Alexa Voice Remote, which was released in March. The normal Fire TV Stick has the same functionality. It has specific buttons for watching Amazon Prime Video, listening to Amazon Music, and watching Netflix. A button on the remote allows you to access all of your installed apps.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max has a Live View feature that lets users watch a picture-in-picture feed of their video doorbells and security cameras while watching other content on their TV. The feature is also available on the Fire TV Cube and works with a variety of smart home and security devices.
