According to tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb), the Google Pixel 6a will be released in May 2022. However, the actual launch date for the Pixel smartphone in the mid-range is unknown at this time. If this is correct, Google will release the Pixel 6a earlier this year than its predecessors, the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5a 5G. The Pixel 4a was first released in India in October 2020, followed by a global release in August 2020. In August 2021, Google announced the Pixel 5a 5G.
However, because to COVID-19 pandemic-related delays, the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5a 5G were released in August. The Google Pixel 3a, on the other hand, was released in May 2019 both globally and in India. The future mid-range Pixel smartphone is expected to debut at Google I/O 2022, according to rumours.
The Google Pixel 6a is said to be powered by a Google Tensor GS101 SoC, which is also featured in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. In addition, the dual rear camera arrangement on the next smartphone will reportedly have a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor.
A few mockups of the Google Pixel 6a surfaced online in November, showing a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, no 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dual-camera system on the back. The mid-range smartphone will have a two-tone finish with a glass back, according to the renders. Similar to other Pixel 6 series products, the back has a camera island for its dual-rear cameras. It is said to be 152.2x71.8x8.7mm in size (10.4mm including rear camera bump).
Jon Prosser (@jon prosser) tweeted that the Google Pixel Watch could be released on May 26. Along with that, Prosser released an image of a few renders of Google's future smartwatch. It is now displayed with Blue, Grey, and Orange straps, as well as a Black circular dial. Prosser said, "Google is known for pushing back dates — but if they do, we'll know."
